Bitumen shingles
Bitumen shingles are light and they bend to the shape of the roof. That makes them useful where a clay tile will not sit properly — complex shapes, loft conversions, curved and broken pitches, and roofs that cannot carry weight.
The site visit is free in Sofia and within 60 km of Sofia. Further out you pay the fuel only — we tell you the figure before we set off, and if you choose us it comes off the final price as a deposit.
Recognise the problem
When they are the right choice
- The roof has a complex shape, curved or broken pitches.
- The structure must not be loaded with heavy tiles.
- A loft conversion, a summer house, an extension or a bay.
- A shallow pitch, where a clay tile is not reliable.
- Existing bitumen shingles that have cracked or lifted.

What it covers
- Preparing the base — full timber boarding across the whole area.
- A reinforced bitumen underlay with no mineral surfacing (усилен воалит без посипка) across the whole area.
- Fitting the bitumen shingles.
- Detailing at the ridge, the edges and around chimneys.
- Metalwork and gutters where they are needed.
- A different underlay if you would rather — we work with every type of material and settle it with the owner at the inspection.
When we would not recommend them
Over a sound tiled roof, purely to make it look new, bitumen shingles are money wasted. They have their place — complex shapes and light structures — but they are not automatically the better option. At the inspection we will tell you which of the two makes more sense on your roof.
Price and timescale
The price is given after an inspection
The price depends on the area, the shape of the roof and the condition of the base. It is given on site after an inspection.
- A written contract on every job, notarised on request.
- A guarantee of 10 to 15 years applies to any work we do on the roof — a complete new roof and a partial repair alike. The exact term depends on the scope of the job and is written into your contract; 15 years is the ceiling, because that is the realistic service life of the materials themselves.
- An English speaker is ready for your call.
- Written into the contract: a photograph at each of the 9 work stages, sent to you on WhatsApp the day it is done — so you can follow the job from wherever you are.
